About the counsellor
The experience that led me to counselling began when I worked in a supportive role with survivors of abuse over 20 years ago. I have since worked as a counsellor in a variety of settings, including occupational counselling, bereavement, domestic violence, eating disorders and as a Primary Care counsellor.
For over 8 years I have worked as a University Counsellor at the University of Warwick where I work with both students and staff. I run workshops on depression, panic attacks, perfectionism, assertiveness, and mindfulness.
My counselling practice is integrative and draws on my core training and experience over many years. My initial CBT training was in Psychological Therapies within the NHS and I have continued my professional development in this modality throughout the years.
I provide a confidential environment that facilitates expression of thought and emotion and is underpinned by a non-judgmental and empathic approach. I abide by the BACP code of ethics and practice and I am registered with the United Kingdom Register of Independent Counsellors/Psychotherapists.
